Intranet
Videoclips used in cells - Media Library for Cell Biology require a data
processing rate of 50 kBit/sec (normal quality) or 600 kBit/sec (high quality).
In parts, the data transfer rates are higher than 800 kBit/sec. Please ensure
that these rates are achieved by your Intranet system, otherwise the videoclips
cannot be viewed at acceptable levels of quality (performance problems may
be encountered). |

Server
cells - Media Library for Cell Biology has been produced in HTML. Every
server being capable of supporting the Internet, is in principle suitable
for the Media Library. |

Client
As a result of carrying out the production of cells - Media Library for
Cell Biology in HTML, every computer system (e.g. PC, Mac) is suitable for
usage, as is every operating system (e.g. Win 95/98/NT, Linux, MacOS). It
can also be used with an adequate Internet browser such as MS Internet Explorer,
Netscape Navigator, Opera. |

cells - Media Library for Cell Biology has been written for the HTML4
generation of browsers, e.g. Microsoft IE 4, Netscape 4.6. Of course, newer
versions as well as other browsers can be used. |

| Installation |

Server
Install contents of the CD-ROM cells - Media Collection for Cell
Biology on to your web server (Intranet server). Upon completion you will
able to utilise the Media Collection.

Viewing
the media collection
Users of computers on your local intranet may view the Media Collection
for Cell Biology by either creating a shortcut (PC) or an alias (MAC) to
launch the Media Collection within the browser on the desktop, or creating
a favourite site for cells - Media Collection for Cell Biology )
within your web browser for file location. |
