Chloroplast in Cytoplasmic Streaming - (Elodea canadensis, Hydrocharitaceae)

| Description |
The presence of numerous lens-shaped chloroplasts is typical of the cells of higher plants. They are swept along in the cytoplasmic streaming, such as here in the waterweed Elodea canadensis. Higher magnification reveals the structure of the chloroplasts in greater detail. Their diameter is about 5 µm as in these larger cells from Vallisneria.
