| Description |
In this cell the endoplasmic reticulum, or ER, and the mitochondria are selectively stained. At the edge, the network of tubular ER radiates. Surrounding the nucleus, there is extensive cisternal ER. In this area also mitochondria are located. In this section of another cell, tubular and cisternal ER are clearly distinguishable from each other.
